Encounter is a women's/men's contemporary designer boutique located on the premier shopping block in downtown Saratoga Springs, New York. They deliver the best of collections to their customers, giving them a comfortable, laid back atmosphere to shop while listening to the latest indie artists. Owner, Beth Harr and manager, Becca Bell, work together to pick the most outstanding pieces from their designers, showcasing them in a way different than the mainstream and mixing well known brands with up-and-comers. Favorites here are Diane von Furstenberg, Vince, Alice + Olivia, Elizabeth and James Eyewear, Art of Henri and Freebird. You'll also find denim for all occasions from Citizens of Humanity and Current/Elliott hanging in their closets next to Love Zooey, Epice, Shawlsmith London, Paste T-Shirts, and Out of Print tees. Shopping for a friend? Encounter will gift wrap your purchases for free, just make a note for them in the "Shipping Notes" at checkout.
about the owner
Owner, Beth Harr has been obsessed with shoes and clothes basically since she could walk. As soon as she was old enough to work, she applied for a job in retail. Opening Encounter fulfilled her lifelong dream of having her own store. She loves helping people feel fabulous and considers herself a personal shopper for her busy clients. Her philosophy: "Encounter is like shopping in your best friend's closet."
